The Silver Cup has been run and won. Another enjoyable tournament for all who competed in it.
Silver division was very close. Launceston set the pace early and were only defeated in one game leading into the sudden death finals. Drop Kick Murphy's were the only team to knock off the Launceston team 6-4. The dangerous Goalies only won 2 and drew one in the preliminary games. Their wins were aginst the winless Team Porn from Canberra. The final 4 was Launceston, Drop Kick Murphy's, My Team and the Goalies. The first final was the highly favoured Launceston against the Goalies. As in previous Silver Cups, you can never discard the Goalies and true to form they knocked off Launceston 5 - 3 to go into the final. The next semi final was Drop Kick Murphy's v My Team. Both teams played each other twice in the regular games for one win each. The semi final was won by My Team so we had 3rd and 4th playing in the Silver Final. The game was tight on the scoreboard but the Goalies were in control and eventually ran out 6 - 4 winners to claim the title.
MVP- Chris Brophy (Launceston)
Goalie- Peter Hodges (Launceston)
Points- Liam McKay (My Team)
Bronze division (Adam Baskijin Cup) was fought out between 6 teams and the surprise of the division was the Refs. They only lost one game but drew 3 and won 2. That left them in 3rd spot and playing against the Warriors in the cut throat semi final. Ballarat set the pace again and looking to claim their 3rd title in a row finishing on top with 4 wins and 2 losses. Rounding out the four was the Cougars. In the first final, Ballarat took care of the Cougars and in the second semi 4 - 2 and the Refs defeated Warriors 4 - 1 to advance into the final against Ballarat. The final was one way traffic and Ballarat claimed the Adam Baskijin Cup for a 3peat. Some thought Ballarat may struggle without Damon Gribble and Sandro Di Girolamo, but Roger Klopak filled the void and scored 5 goals in the final.
MVP- Bob Mitchell (Refs)
Goalie- Josh Harrison (Ballarat)
Points- Tim Cole (Ballarat)
Tin Division saw Launceston as the dominant team in the comp only giving up 2 goals in 5 games. With that, they had a couple of close games against CBAS 1-0 and Llamas 2-0. Going into the finals, Mother Puckers had the dubious task of trying to knock Launceston out of the finals. To no avail the Mothers were beaten 7-1. The second semi between Llamas and CBAS went down to the wire with CBAS winning 4-3. The final between Launceston and CBAS was the game of the tournament. All square at the end of the game 4-4 no-one was able to score in overtime so into a shootout. Launcesto Captain and MVP of the division, Alan Atkins scored the game winner in an exciting game.
MVP- Alan Atkins (Launceston)
Goallie- Matt Noble (Launceston)
Points- Dave Soothill (Llamas)
Masters division was a two sided affair for the tournament that had Broski's and Tassie dominating the Hockey Slags and Mystery Punters. The final between the two teams was a comfortable win to Broski's 5-1.

Goalile- Dan Iwasiw (Broski's)
Points- John Baker (Broski's)
